Technology Gives Life to Children’s Drawings

Akitae Matsumoto's interactive installation takes scans of children's drawings and animates them in a virtual aquarium.

He works for teamLab, a company that explores the relationship between art and technology. Observing that his own children were relating to their devices in a very isolating way, he set out to build a means to enable them to interact with technology more creatively and socially.

In the installation, children draw squid, jellyfish, and other marine life and can interact with them in the large screen.
